European or Western food refers to the cuisines originated from countries in Europe, North America, Latin America, Russia, as well as Australasia and Oceania. However in this category, European food or sometimes known as Continental features the cuisine originated from the land in the continent of Europe, Russia, Australasia and Oceania. We exclude American and leave that under the category of 'American', that includes restaurants and fast food chains of USA origin.

Italian, German and French cuisine are the most famous few that stand out in the world of culinary arts. Operated as theme restaurant in overseas, they highlight the highly diverse European cuisine as well as introducing Western taste into Asia and other regions.

Taking German cuisine for instance, it varies by state or province's culinary tradition, besides depending on its regional agriculture and new tastes created after the reunion of Germany. Meats particularly pork is the German's staple whilst light beer and brewed coffee are part and parcel of their daily drinks. A typical German meals may serve up to seven courses which includes an appetizer, soup, an entree with two side dishes, followed by after meal treats like beer, soft drinks, juices and desserts. Wow! Not surprising German restaurants usually features interesting menu that made me indecisive on what to pick.
