Located at the intersection of Parmer Lane and Mopac Hwy in north Austin, Odaku Sushi is not a new place to us. We frequented the H.E.B. adjacent to it almost every week. Almost a year had passed before we decided to try this restaurant. Little that we know that Odaku Sushi also serves Korean on top of what the name says 'Sushi' which connotes 'Japanese' until it was mentioned by one of our Korean friends.
Odaku Sushi at North Austin
On one fine evening in summer, we walked into Odaku Sushi. The interior of Odaku Sushi is inviting and spacious. Tatami-style seating is arranged on the left wing while table-chair dining area takes the right wing. Sushi counter is right ahead after the entrance. Playing the soft music of Korean (I think), the dimly lit atmosphere is cozy yet sophisticated.
A venue for both Japanese and Korean!
As soon as we got seated, we were presented with a long list of menu. Having the best of both worlds - Korean and Japanese, I was a bit indecisive to pick my entree. I almost wanted to order Sukiyaki but the serving is large and meant for at least 2 people. In the end, I went for Bibimbap or mixed rice since it had been a while since my last bowl. While my Significant Other ordered a set of Japanese entree - Teriyaki Salmon.
Teriyaki Salmon
The beauty of picking a decent Korean meal, it is usually served with a set of banchan or side dishes. Perfect for diners with huge appetite like me Smile.
Bibimbap - rice with beef, egg and mixed vegetables
Both of our entrees arrived almost at the same time. The serving of stone rice is generous and the waitstaff did warn me about the spicy bottled sauce. Great that the sauce is offered separately so that we always a chance to evaluate how much we need or could tolerate!

I love the mixed rice and my Significant Other likes his salmon that is offered with a bowl of steamed rice, soup and salad. Service is prompt and great too.
