![]() About an hour drive or 40 miles southeast of Austin, Bastrop State Park encompasses an area of 5,926 acres and built up by loblolly pine and hardwoods. Apart from the ground of timberland, the park also operates a beautiful 18-hole golf course in Central Texas. Occupying a huge grassland, it is situated right after the park's entrance if one is coming from Bastrop direction. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Besides the golf-course, the main attraction at the park is Bastrop State Park Lake. Swimming is not permitted but fishing and canoeing are the favorite activities here. A handful of concrete tables and benches are also provided near the lake for picnickers. ![]() Drive along the Park Road 1B, visit the Pioneer Village Cabin Area. Dozens of campsites at Piney Hill, Deer Run and Cooperas Creek camping areas are available to overnight in the park, however if one wish to experience a night in rustic cabin, make an early reservation. Most of these stone-wood cabins are overlooking the lake, equipped with air-conditioner, microwave and a kitchen. ![]() ![]() ![]() Hiking trails are plenty and direction with map is accessible at the entry point from park road. Explore the nature and welcome to the pines woodland! Address: 3005 Hwy 21 East Bastrop TX 78602 Official Website: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/findadest/parks/bastrop/ Direction: |
